Our Pop-Up at Escape Cafe & Community, Sharjah 📚

If you stopped by our table at Escape Cafe & Community in Sharjah, thank you for making it such a lovely day — and if you missed it, here's everything you missed (and a reason to catch the next one).

Setting Up Shop in a Cozy Corner

We packed up the Preloved Books UAE table with all our favourites: a curated stack of secondhand reads, our signature crochet charms and keychains, hand-illustrated bookmarks, acrylic bookmarks, notepads, enamel pins, and stickers. The whole table had that soft, checkered-tablecloth, golden-hour cafe energy we love bringing to every pop-up.

 

 

Blind Date With a Book Made Another Appearance 💌

Our most-loved concept was back — wrapped, ribboned, and ready to surprise. Each Blind Date With a Book came in kraft paper with a handwritten hint about your "date," things like:

  • "YA Romance, Sweet, Magical realism, Tissues optional"
  • "Poetry & Self-Reflection, Healing, Self-love and finding wonder"

No peeking allowed — just genre clues and a leap of faith. At 30 AED each, and Buy One Get One Free after 8:00 PM, a lot of you left with more than one mystery read tucked under your arm.

 

Beyond the Books

The table wasn't just about the reads. We had:

  • Crochet charms and keychains — including a very popular bunny that nearly didn't make it home with us
  • Bookmarks starting at 7 AED, with acrylic designs at 15 AED
  • Notepads and bookish stationery
  • A Fluffy Romance Book Club lifetime membership card tucked into the mix for our romance readers
  • Stickers, enamel pins, and little surprises scattered throughout

 

 

Why We Love Pop-Ups Like This

Escape Cafe & Community had exactly the kind of warm, unhurried atmosphere that makes browsing a joy — the kind of space where you end up chatting about your favourite tropes with a stranger at the next table. That's really what these pop-ups are about for us: putting books in front of people in a setting that feels more like a hangout than a shop.
